Fixes for running out of memory during update.
Also now adds the ‘Done’ navigation bar when rotating device after it has dis-appeared. Please single tap to hide/unhide the navigation bar.
Also added some missing VORs. This unfortunately requires recaching since the alternate and takeoff minimum file names have changed. Please see mid cycle update note.
v1.9 released!
Please update – should fix hang on startup when out of wifi range.
Also hides navigation bar for full screen PDF viewing.
Single tap to hide/unhide the navigation bar.
May 6 charts
Are now available.
Just run the app and it will ask if you want to update.
If you want to keep the old charts for another day, just answer NO to the question.
v1.8 released!
Universal binary!
SkyChartsPro will now run on both the iPad and iPhone.
You only get terrain awareness on the iPad.
Also has bugfixes and a magenta route color, and remembers type of chart when exiting.
New server
Was concerned about bandwidth going beyond limits on main server so added another server for the approach plate data.
If you have any problems, please let me know.
SkyCharts vs SkyChartsPro
Please, make SURE to buy the correct version of SkyCharts.
SkyChartsPro = iPad
SkyCharts = iPhone
If you DO buy the wrong version, please take it up with Apple, I can not issue any refunds, all transactions has to go through Apple.
v1.7 is out!
Please update!
Now with terrain!
Note: Since the wifi version of the iPad normally does NOT supply elevation, please use X-Plane to ‘drive‘ SkyChartsPro.
Or wait for the 3G version – it has the same GPS functionality as the iPhone 3G(S) has.
iPad screenshots
v1.7 has terrain!
Of course, in order to use this, please use the X-Plane to ‘drive‘.
iPad users
Just to clarify: The regular version of SkyCharts will NOT take advantage of the full screen resolution on the iPad.
To run in native resolution and see the maps in full glory, you need SkyChartsPro.
April 8 charts
Processing IFR charts and VFR charts when they become available.
NACO is missing a couple of charts, hopefully they will add those soon ?
Once the new charts are released, I’ll bump SkyCharts/SkyChartsPro to v1.7.
If you want to join the iPad beta, please check the post here and once you have a device please send the UDID.
